Education has a direct affect on the earth.
People are slowly beginning to realize that how they live has a direct affect on the earth and environment. With this knowledge comes the responsibility to change. Doing a little research on the internet and attending a few seminars on how to 'go green' are not enough. Not only must a person's entire lifestyle change, they must teach others. So much is required to make a significant difference in slowing the damage, and preventing more to the earth and environment, and it takes more than just a handful of people to do it. Everyone on this earth must play a part and it requires learning different forms of alternative energy, using clean technology and getting technical training. We must work hand in hand with nature itself to repair the damages and prevent more damage from occurring. This may seem a daunting task but there is a new concept that is taking effect to make this happen.
C.E.R.I., the first University of it's kind, is just such a school. It walks the walk by creating a school that not only teaches how to use alternative energy, clean technology and technical training, it works hand in hand with the environment by using the natural resources and recyclable energy available with as minimal carbon footprinting as possible. It's entire technical training program also know as eco-education, will teach how to live, how to build, how to conserve and how to use alternative resources to live at home as well as how we do business. What is unique about the University, is that it will teach us how to live now but will also teach future generations how to live and consume earth's resources with minimal damage. The primary goal is for our future generations to know of no other way of living other than a living that is healthy for themselves, the earth and the environment. Changing how we think and view the future is the first step in making the change. Some of the types of training will include, water and waste management, sustainable living, alternative forms of energy, energy efficient homes and business', and how to teach whole town and cities to reduce their carbon footprint.

Green, Not Just A Color, But A Way Of Life

Sustainable living is attainable for everyone.
Green is rapidly becoming the new favorite color of people all over the globe. It is more than just a pretty color to wear, the color of trees, plants and grass or even the color of the eyes. Green, has now for many, become the lifestyle of choice. Green living has become more and more popular in the last ten to twenty years but it has been a very slow process. A person's lifestyle habits goes back for many generations and new concepts, as well as new ways of living, are gradually being introduced in to society in small amounts. For many people green building, sustainable living and energy reduction are not in their daily vocabulary, especially when these words must be a taught way of life. For most people, going green consists of recycling waste and conserving energy in the home. Some may drive energy efficient cars as well. So much more can be done to help preserve the earth and conserve energy and it just requires a bit more learning to do so. For example, when someone decides to build a home or a business, they can have it green built. Green building is using recycled products to design environmentally responsible and energy efficient structures. This helps the environment because it uses products that are recycled from other products instead of creating more waste. This, in turn, helps the environment by using less resources from the earth. These homes and business' are not only beautiful, they are environmentally and structurally sound as well as energy efficient.
Reducing one's carbon footprint is a lifestyle change and choice for sustainable living. It is a creative way for someone to limit their own use of energy and use alternative resources to protect the environment. Some of these include altering the use of energy, transportation, diet and consumption of products. This must become a permanent lifestyle change in order to make an impact on a carbon footprint. Making this change for a few months or even a few years will have little effect on the environment. Energy reduction goes hand in hand with sustainable living, and how often we consume products, drive a car and purchase particular products for use in the home or business. The more factories that are used to make these products, the more gases are emitted into the atmosphere. In actuality, the more we grow, the more damage we inflict on the earth and it's ability to sustain our very existence.
